Ashland Main Street Events
Ashland Train Day takes place in the heart of Ashland, Virginia–“the Center of the Universe!” Train Day is an event for the whole family.
Come visit us along the tracks for a day of fun and excitement. We have music, games, lots of model trains, children’s train rides, food, railroad related vendors, displays and of course our mascots – Cinder and Tender Bear! Dress up for the day in your bib overalls, bandana and engineer hat.
Best of all, Train Day is FREE !
“Light up the Tracks” is Ashland’s mile-long greeting card for train travelers and visitors to downtown Ashland. Join us this holiday season for shopping, dining, special performances, holiday treats, the Gingerbread Trail and more! Then stay for the lights!
From early December through New Year’s Day, trackside homes, businesses and Randolph-Macon College are strung with twinkling white lights from one end of town to the other. At the center of town, where Rt. 54 crosses the tracks, a 20′ community tree is adorned with colored lights and decorations.
“Light up the Tracks” is featured on RVA’s Tacky Lights Tour!
What is the Chalk Walk all about? The Ashland Main Street Association “Chalk Walk” event grew out of a desire by their board of directors and Ashland area artists to raise awareness of the Arts in Ashland through the production and display of art for all ages. To give you an idea of what takes place – click here to view pictures of previous year’s events.
Encourage students, friends and family to participate!
We have the chalk – you bring the art!
